Dakota Johnson joins Chris Hemsworth in Drew Goddard’s thriller 'Bad Times at the El Royale'
Fresh off her appearance as a presenter at the Golden Globes, Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson has signed on to star in Drew Goddard’s thriller Bad Times at the El Royale, the Tracking Board has exclusively learned.
Chris Hemsworth will star in the 20th Century Fox project alongside Oscar winners Jeff Bridges and Russell Crowe, Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, and up-and-coming actress Cailee Spaeny (Pacific Rim: Uprising).
The story is set in the 1960s at a crappy motel near Lake Tahoe in California, though plot details are being kept under wraps.
Goddard will direct from his own original screenplay, which has attracted some of Hollywood’s hottest talent. Goddard is also producing the genre film, which will begin shooting soon.
Johnson will soon be seen reprising her role as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Freed. She has also wrapped Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Suspiria and the indie film The Peanut Butter Falcon with Shia LaBeouf. Johnson is represented by WME.
